A collaboration between GEALive, Silverback Films and World Wildlife Fund, “Our Planet Live in Concert” combines high-quality live elements with a fusion of breathtaking cinematography projected on a large HD screen. “Our Planet” blends spectacular wildlife footage with the mysteries of how and why animals migrate. The program features stunning imagery of the Earth’s most beautiful, intriguing and surprising wildlife as it follows animals on the move from plains to frozen worlds to high seas and beyond.
The breathtaking cinematography is paired with new orchestrations by Oscar Award-winning composer Steven Price performed live by a touring ensemble enhanced by members of the Penn State Philharmonic Orchestra. Shatner’s narration provides bridges between the visually stunning nature imagery.
“There are moments when you might laugh and moments where you might cry, but really we’re looking to celebrate the beautiful planet we share and send people home with optimism,” Price said. “Finding a way to strike the right balance musically was something I spent a lot of time on.”Read a Center for the Performing Arts interview with the “Our Planet” composer.
