Established by Lynn Castle Abramson (’75 B.A. Liberal Arts) and Ellis M. Abramson (’70 B.S. Business), consideration for this endowed scholarship shall be given to undergraduate students enrolled in the College of Arts and Architecture, who are participating in RaiseMe, the Pathway to Success Summer Start Program (“PaSSS”), the Student Transitional Experiences Program (“STEP”), or Complete Penn State, or successor or additional programs created by the University.

Anonymous-Named Fund for Excellence
The purpose of this annual fund is to provide monies to advance existing programs or create new initiatives that will positively impact the educational experiences of all University students seeking to experience the arts and design.

Arts and Architecture/Performing Arts Alumni Society Scholarships
Established by members of the College’s Alumni Society to recognize outstanding undergraduate students in penultimate year of study with a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher (on a 4.0 scale).

Breanna and Christopher Artuso Scholarship for Internships in the College of Arts and Architecture
Established by Breanna L. Artuso (’05 B.S. Finance) and Christopher Artuso (’05 B.S. Acctg.), consideration for this non-endowed fund shall be given to undergraduate students enrolled in the College of Arts and Architecture who are pursuing internship opportunities in their field of study.

Bell Family Arts Business Excellence Fund
Established by Paul D. Bell (’82 Business) and Maryann G. Bell, to provide support for the Arts Business Idea Competition – part of the College of Arts and Architecture’s Arts Entrepreneurship Program.

Kenton H. Broyles Trustee Scholarship in the College of Arts and Architecture
Established by Kenton H. Broyles to recognize undergraduate students enrolled in the College of Arts and Architecture at The Pennsylvania State University who have demonstrated a financial need, with first preference given to students enrolled in the musical theatre major.

Melanie L. Buffington Memorial Art Education Scholarship
Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to undergraduate students majoring in or planning to major in Art Education who have a demonstrated financial need for funds to meet their necessary college expenses with first preference given to students whose gender, race, ethnic, cultural, and/or national background contribute to the diversity of the student body; and second preference given to students who are participating in a study abroad opportunity.

Career Development Professorships in Design in the College of Arts and Architecture
Established by H. Campbell Stuckeman (’37 B.S. Architecture). There shall be two career development professorships established and each shall supplement departmental support for outstanding University faculty in order to provide a holder of the career development professorship with critical financial support and encouragement for faculty starting an academic career. In addition to recognizing current achievements, these career development professorships demonstrate a belief in potential. The holders must be a full-time or visiting faculty member in the College of Arts and Architecture with the academic rank of assistant professor or higher.

Agnes Scollins Carey Memorial Early Career Professorship in the Arts
Established by the children of Agnes Scollins Carey in her memory, the purpose of this early career professorship shall be to supplement departmental support for outstanding faculty in the College of Arts and Architecture in order to provide the holder with financial support and encouragement during the critical first ten years of their academic career. The holder must be a full-time or visiting faculty member in the College with an academic focus in the arts and an academic rank of assistant professor or higher. The term of the appointment shall be awarded on a rotating basis for a three-year period. The initial appointment may be renewed for a second term of up to three years.

Chair in Design Innovation in the College of Arts and Architecture
Established by H. Campbell Stuckeman (’37 B.S. Architecture), the purpose of this chair shall be to enhance the University’s commitment to the Commonwealth by providing a distinguished faculty member in the College of Arts and Architecture the opportunity to continue and further scholarly excellence through contributions to instruction, research, and public service. The holder of this chair shall have a substantial background in interdisciplinary research, teaching and professional service and shall be a full-time faculty member in the College of Arts and Architecture with the academic rank of professor.

Chair in Integrative Design in the College of Arts and Architecture
Established by H. Campbell Stuckeman (’37 B.S. Architecture), the purpose of this chair shall be to enhance the University’s commitment to the Commonwealth by providing a distinguished faculty member in the College of Arts and Architecture the opportunity to continue and further scholarly excellence through contributions to instruction, research, and public service.
The holder of this chair shall have a substantial background in interdisciplinary research, teaching and professional service and shall be a full-time faculty member in the College of Arts and Architecture with the academic rank of professor.

John and Mary Chieco Scholarship in the College of Arts and Architecture
Established by Daniel J. Chieco (’85 B.S. LArch) and Robin L. Chieco (’86 B.S. Educ.), consideration for this named annual fund shall be given to full-time undergraduate students in the College of Arts and Architecture who have a demonstrated financial need for funds to meet their necessary college expenses. First preference given to students who have a home address of record in the state of New Jersey.

William E. and Julia Nelo Clark Excellence Scholarship
Established by late Julia Nelo Clark (’49 Communications) in memory of her husband William E. Clark to recognize undergraduate students enrolled in the College of Arts and Architecture who have achieved superior academic records.

College Award for Creative Achievement
Presented by Penn State’s College of Arts and Architecture to recognize students who exemplify the objectives of the college with respect to enhancement of the arts. Consideration will be given to undergraduate students (preferably final year) who have proven themselves over an extended period of time. Each department/school can nominate a total of three nominees, with a maximum of two undergraduates or a maximum of three graduate students.

Mimi U. Coppersmith Educational Equity Scholarship
Established by Mimi U. Coppersmith, consideration for this scholarship shall be given to full-time undergraduate students who are enrolled in the College of Arts and Architecture, who have a demonstrated financial need for funds to meet their necessary college expenses and whose gender, race, ethnic, cultural, and/or national background contribute to the diversity of the student body.

Established by various donors to enable the continuation, enrichment and growth of courses and programs offered through the College of Arts and Architecture at The Pennsylvania State University to foster an appreciation for the unique artistic, decorative and architectural heritage of Pennsylvania and to value our nation’s arts, architecture and decorative history, and the need to promote an appreciation for this rich cultural heritage.

Keith E. and Linda A. Forrest Trustee Scholarship in the College of Arts and Architecture
Established by Linda A. and Keith E. Forrest (’69 B.S. EMS) to recognize undergraduate students enrolled in the College of Arts and Architecture at The Pennsylvania State University with first preference given to students who are majoring in music (either an education or performance major) and with a concentration in voice, string, brass, woodwind or percussion, who have a demonstrated financial need.

Established by the estate of Barbara J. Gohn (’64 B.S. Home Econ). Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to all full-time undergraduate students who are pursuing a degree offered by one of the following units: School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture; School of Music; School of Visual Arts; or, the Department of Art History. First preference shall be given to female students.

Doris and Walter Goldstein Trustee Scholarship in the College of Arts and Architecture
Established by Doris and the late Walter C. Goldstein (’47 B.S. Civil Engr.) to recognize undergraduate students enrolled in the College of Arts and Architecture who have a demonstrated financial need.

Reuben and Gladys Golumbic Scholarship Award Fund
Established by the late Ed Eckl (’55 B.S. Chemistry) to recognize students who have demonstrated superior design, humanistic, and performance records and who have proven their potential for significant contribution to the arts and humanities. Competition with consideration given to third or fourth-year students that possess qualities, and have contributed efforts, that are outstanding as measured by standards of their respective academic units.

Mary E. Godfrey Educational Equity Scholarship
Established by the College of Arts and Architecture administration to honor Mary E. Godfrey, an art education professor from 1956 to 1979 and Penn State’s first Black faculty member. Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to full-time undergraduate students who are enrolled in the College of Arts and Architecture, who have a demonstrated financial need for funds to meet their necessary college expenses and whose gender, race, ethnic, cultural, and/or national background contribute to the diversity of the student body.

Donald W. Hamer Trustee Scholarship in the College of Arts and Architecture
Established by the Hamer Foundation to recognize undergraduate students enrolled in the College of Arts and Architecture at The Pennsylvania State University who have demonstrated a financial need.

James E. Hess and Suzanne Scurfield Hess Research Endowment in the College of Arts and Architecture
Established by the late James Hess (í51 B.S. Electrical Engineering) and the late Suzanne Scurfield Hess (’51 B.S. and ’53 M.Ed. Music Ed.) to provide monies to support research and development of creative work.

Hockenberry and Parker Scholarship in the College of Arts and Architecture
Established by the late Carol P. Hockenberry, the purpose of this scholarship is to provide recognition and financial assistance to outstanding undergraduate students enrolled in the College who have a demonstrated need for funds to meet their necessary college expenses. It is the donor’s intent that awards be made to students who quality who are either juniors or seniors during the award period.

Institute for the Arts and Humanities Enhancement Fund – College of Arts and Architecture
Established from funds received from the National Endowment of the Humanities Challenge Grant to provide monies for the Institute for the Arts and Humanities at The Pennsylvania State University to include support for visiting scholars and artists, interdisciplinary group activities such as lectures, workshops and graduate seminars and symposia, outreach and education support.

Established by alumnus Russell O. Jones to recognize undergraduate students enrolled in the College of Arts and Architecture at The Pennsylvania State University who have demonstrated a financial need, with first preference given to students enrolled in the landscape architecture major.

Professorship in Advanced Design Studies in the College of Arts and Architecture
Established by H. Campbell Stuckeman (’37 B.S. Architecture), the purpose of this professorship shall be to supplement departmental support for outstanding University faculty in the College of Arts and Architecture in order to provide a holder of the professorship with the resources necessary to continue and further the scholar’s contributions to teaching, research, and public service. The holder of this professorship must be a full-time or visiting faculty member in the College of Arts and Architecture with the academic rank of professor.

Professorship in Interdisciplinary Design in the College of Arts and Architecture
Established by H. Campbell Stuckeman (’37 B.S. Architecture), the purpose of this professorship shall be to supplement departmental support for outstanding University faculty in the College of Arts and Architecture in order to provide a holder of the professorship with the resources necessary to continue and further the scholar’s contributions to teaching, research, and public service. The holder of this chair shall have considerable background in interdisciplinary research, teaching and professional service and must be a full-time or visiting faculty member in the College of Arts and Architecture with the academic rank of professor.

Architecture), the purpose of this chair shall be to enhance the University’s commitment to the Commonwealth by providing a distinguished faculty member in the College of Arts and Architecture the opportunity to continue and further scholarly excellence through contributions to instruction, research, and public service focused on design. The holder of this chair shall be designated the “Eleanor R. Stuckeman Chair in Design” and shall have a substantial background in interdisciplinary research, teaching and professional service and shall be a full-time faculty member in the College of Arts and Architecture with the academic rank of professor.

The Zewan Trustee Scholarship for the College of Arts and Architecture
Established by W. Dean Zewan (’80 B.S. FS HA) to provide financial assistance to undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll in the College of Arts and Architecture who have a demonstrated need for funds to meet their necessary college expenses, with first preference given to students who are majoring in or planning to major in Theatre.

Astorino Endowment for the School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture
Established by the firm of Astorino and Louis D. Astorino (’69 B.S. Arch.) to support the international study abroad program and projects emphasizing interdisciplinary approaches bringing together the expertise of different professions including architecture, landscape architecture and/or engineering.

Career Development Professorships in Design in the College of Arts and Architecture
Established by H. Campbell Stuckeman (’37 B.S. Architecture). There shall be two career development professorships established and each shall supplement departmental support for outstanding University faculty in order to provide a holder of the career development professorship with critical financial support and encouragement for faculty starting an academic career. The Career Development Professorships in Design may: support young faculty in their early activities in the classroom, enabling them to establish a commitment to teaching; provide start-up funds for new areas of research and teaching laboratories; offer early recognition for outstanding accomplishments. The holders of these career development professorships must be full-time or visiting faculty members in the College with the academic rank of assistant professor or higher. The term of the appointments shall be awarded on a rotating basis for a three-year period.

Chair in Design Innovation in the College of Arts and Architecture

Practitioner Instructor Program Endowment for Design
Established by H. Campbell Stuckeman (’37 B.S. Architecture), the purpose of this endowment shall be to enrich the College of Arts and Architecture by providing monies to support the Practitioner Instructor Program in the H. Campbell and Eleanor R. Stuckeman School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture. The Practitioner Instructor Program seeks to enhance the educational experience of students by inviting various professionals from the field to teach and mentor the next generation of designers. This fund is for program support only and cannot be used for student awards.

Professorship in Advanced Design Studies in the College of Arts and Architecture
Established by H. Campbell Stuckeman (’37 B.S. Architecture), the purpose of this professorship shall be to supplement departmental support for outstanding University faculty in the College of Arts and Architecture in order to provide a holder of the professorship (must be a full-time or visiting faculty member in the College with the academic rank of professor) with the resources necessary to continue and further the scholar’s contributions to teaching, research, and public service.

Professorship in Interdisciplinary Design in the College of Arts and Architecture

Stuckeman Center for Design Computing
Established by H. Campbell and the late Eleanor Stuckeman to enrich the School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture by providing monies for the creation and establishment of a center for design computing. The Stuckeman Center for Design Computing provides design computing research and theoretical investigations and academic opportunities for faculty and students in the area of architecture and landscape architecture. This endowment encompasses the Stuckeman Computer Aided Design Laboratory established and supported by the donors since 1991.

Eleanor R. Stuckeman Chair in Design
Established by H. Campbell Stuckeman (’37 B.S. Charles Thorp Endowment in the School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture
In memory of Charles S. Thorp by Robert E. Fenza (’80 B.Ph. Inter-College) and friends to provide joint cooperation between students of Architecture or Landscape Architecture in the College of Arts and Architecture and shall include expenses associated with design charrettes, which will consist of competitions between small groups of students with a balance of Architecture and Landscape Architecture students.

Ian Adamson and Faith Baum Scholarship for Study Abroad in the Department of Architecture
Established by J. Ian Adamson (’75 B.S. Arch.) and Faith Baum, consideration for this endowed scholarship shall be given to undergraduate students majoring in Architecture who are participating in an international study abroad/experience and who have a demonstrated financial need for funds to meet their necessary college expenses.

Established by the American Institute of Architects and the American Architectural Foundation (A.I.A./A.A.F.) Scholarship Program to recognize the top-ranking graduating students of the Department of Architecture. Criteria for top-ranking status has been determined to be the graduating student with the highest overall University grade-point average.

A.I.A. Henry Adams Runner-up Certificate
Established by A.I.A./A.A.F. scholarship program to recognize the second-ranking graduating students of the Department of Architecture. Criteria for second top-rating status is to be the graduating student with the second-highest overall University grade-point average.

Alpha Rho Chi Medal
Established by Alpha Rho Chi, National Coed Professional Fraternity for Architecture and the Allied Arts, to encourage professional leadership by rewarding student accomplishment, to promote the ideals of professional service by acknowledging distinctive individual contributions to school life, and to stimulate professional merit by commending qualities in the student that do not necessarily pertain to scholarship. Consideration will be given to graduating students of the Department of Architecture.

Raniero Corbelletti Memorial Endowment
Established by George H. Miller (’73 B.S. Arch.) and Anne Tichich in memory of Raniero Corbelletti, architecture department head, 1968 to 1988. The purpose of the fund is to provide student awards to honor and recognize outstanding achievement by students who majoring in architecture and who have demonstrated excellence and/or high potential in the communication of design ideas through participation in the annual Corbelletti Design Charette competition and to support associated competition costs including, but not limited to, supplies, materials, equipment.

Silver Trout Curatorial Graduate Internship Program
The purpose of this endowment is to provide monies for curatorial internships for Art History and Art Education graduate students to facilitate the completion of various curatorial tasks at the Palmer Museum of Art while providing hands-on experience in the areas of organization and staging of exhibits and catalogues. This fund also provides support for curatorial projects and initiatives at the Palmer Museum of Art which shall include, but not necessarily be limited to, the development of a museum studies program.

Townley Memorial Scholarship in the Department of Art History
The purpose of this scholarship shall be to provide recognition and financial assistance to outstanding undergraduate and/or graduate students majoring in Art History in the College of Arts and Architecture at Penn State University Park who are participating in a study abroad program or traveling for research opportunities. The initial principal of this fund has been received from the Estate of Melvin R. Townley for the benefit of the Department of Art History. The Head of the Department of Art History has designated these funds to establish an endowment for the above-stated purpose.

Diane and Craig Zabel Scholarship in Architectural History
Established by Craig and Diane Zabel, consideration for this annually-funded scholarship shall be given to undergraduate students minoring in Architectural History in the College of Arts and Architecture and have achieved at least a 3.0 grade point average (on a scale of 4.0). It is the Donors’ preference that this scholarship be awarded to the student with the highest GPA who meets the terms of eligibility and who has at least one semester of enrollment at the University remaining after receiving this scholarship.

Established in memory of landscape architecture associate professor, Donald W. Girouard (1972–90) to recognize Department of Landscape Architecture full-time undergraduate students with proven academic abilities.

Ernest H. Graham Scholarship in the Department of Landscape Architecture
Established by Ernest J. Graham (’72 B.S. Civil Engr.), consideration for this annually-funded scholarship shall be given to outstanding undergraduate students majoring in landscape architecture who are participating in an internship program in order to broaden their educational experience. From the identified pool of eligible recipients, and to the extent possible, a first preference shall be given to students selected to participate in an internship and/or service learning experience that offers a hands-on, “design build” component.

LArch), consideration for this scholarship shall be given to full-time landscape architecture undergraduates who have a demonstrated financial need for funds to meet their necessary college expenses and who have a home address of record in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania with first preference given to students whose home address of record is in Snyder County.

Landscape Architecture Alumni Program Endowment
Established by friends and alumni of the Department of Landscape Architecture. Expenditures shall be made to support the Landscape Architecture Program and may include, but are not necessarily limited to, programming needs; course development; and, educational opportunities outside the classroom. This fund is for program support only and cannot be used for student awards.

Established from the proceeds of the A. E. Bye Exhibition in landscape architecture to provide monies for staff retreats, professional conference registration and travel, special meeting facilitators, etc.

Veronica Burns Lucas Travel Award in Landscape Architecture
Established by Agnes V. Burns in memory of the late Veronica Burns Lucas, former associate professor of landscape architecture in the College of Arts and Architecture. The purpose of the award is to honor outstanding achievement by an undergraduate landscape architecture student by providing that student with a travel stipend. Consideration will be given to students in both 4^th and 5^th years of study, and selection will be based upon any recent design submissions created during current or recent academic sessions.

Melillo + Bauer Associates Scholarship for Landscape Architecture Excellence
Established by Thomas B. Bauer (’76 B.S. LArch), Principal, Melillo + Bauer Associates, Inc., consideration for this annually-funded scholarship shall be given to undergraduate students who are majoring in Landscape Architecture, who have achieved a grade-point average of at least 3.0 or who otherwise manifest promise of outstanding academic success (especially in the area of design), and who have a demonstrated financial need to meet their necessary college expenses.

Humphry Repton Award for Creative Writing
The award was established by E. Lynn Miller, professor emeritus of Penn State, to recognize Department of Landscape Architecture students with creative writing abilities demonstrated through open juried competition.

RGS Associates, Inc. Scholarship
Established by RGS Associates, Inc. to provide recognition and financial assistance to outstanding full-time undergraduate students enrolled in a degree program offered by the Department of Landscape Architecture who have a demonstrated financial need to meet their necessary college expenses and who have achieved a cumulative or predicted grade point average of at least 3.2. From the identified pool of eligible recipients, first preference shall be given to students with a demonstrated ability in sustainable design and/or community design and development.

James Rose Center Garden Scholarship
Presented by the James Rose Center. Consideration will be given to a Department of Landscape Architecture student whose work possesses three qualities found in the work of James Rose: spatial clarity, responsiveness to site conditions, and expression of contemporary life.

E. Bruce and Linda Rowland Scholarship in the Department of Landscape Architecture
Established by E. Bruce Rowland (’73 B.S. LArch) and Linda Crow Rowland (’71 B.S. Educ.), consideration for this scholarship shall be given to full-time landscape architecture undergraduates who have a demonstrated financial need for funds to meet their necessary college expenses.

Kenneth A. Schnorr Memorial Scholarship in Landscape Architecture
Established by John A. Schnorr, the purpose of this scholarship is to provide recognition and financial assistance to outstanding undergraduate students who are studying abroad as part of the mandatory study abroad component of the Landscape Architecture Department and who have a cumulate grade point average in the top fifty percent of all eligible recipients.

Semester Abroad Award
Consideration will be given to a student entering his/her fourth year who has high academic achievement and demonstrated financial need and a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher (on a 4.0 scale).

John Ormsbee Simonds Honor Award
Established to honor the late John Ormsbee Simonds by donations from alumni and the public to recognize students enrolled in the Department of Landscape Architecture who are fifth semester standing or above, have achieved superior academic records in all professional courses of the landscape architecture program, and who manifest promise of outstanding professional accomplishments following graduation.

Students applying for the first time do not need to make a special application for a music scholarship. Your application and audition for acceptance into the School of Music also serves as a music scholarship audition.

Dan C. Armstrong Graduate Scholarship in Percussion
Established by Dan C. and Eleanor D. Armstrong, consideration for this endowed scholarship shall be given to full-time graduate students who have been admitted to the Graduate School at the University as candidates for a graduate degree and are enrolled or planning to enroll in the School of Music, who have achieved acceptable academic records or who manifest promise of academic success and who are pursuing a graduate degree in percussion performance.

Marie Buoymaster Ashburn Piano Scholarship
Established by E. Louise Stethers in memory of her mother, Marie Buoymaster Ashburn, to provide recognition for an undergraduate student enrolled in the School of Music majoring in piano.

Atherton Memorial Music Award
To honor Helen Atherton Govier, the late daughter of former Penn State President Atherton, and to provide recognition to undergraduate students in their second, third, or fourth year, majoring in music and making a significant contribution to the musical life of the University.

Mark Ballora & Wang Award Endowment in the School of Music
Established by Agatha Wang and the friends and family of the late Mark Ballora, consideration for this award shall be given to students who are enrolled in the School of Music who have demonstrated outstanding technological creativity within the School of Music including, but not limited to, new discoveries and creative applications in the following areas: music technology, computer programming, electronic or acoustic composition, or music engineering.

Mary E. Brady Memorial Award
Established in memory of Mary E. Brady by F.E. Brady Products Inc. to recognize second through fourth-year undergraduate students who have displayed proficiency in piano at the University.

Marjorie Jane Brewster Memorial Music Scholarship
In memory of Marjorie Jane Brewster (’61 B.A. Arts) by her father, the late R. Wallace Brewster (’28 B.A. Arts and Letters and ’30 M.A. Political Science). Consideration will be given to full-time students who are graduates of the University with pursuit of advanced music studies at an accredited institution of higher learning or accredited conservatory of music of their choice. The late Sam Gallu (’40 B.S. Arts and Letters) established this scholarship in memory of his parents, Simeon and Elizabeth Gallu. Sam became a writer and producer for television, radio, and a playwright whose credits include Give ‘Em Hell Harry. Consideration will be given to incoming first-year students possessing outstanding and exceptional talent, dedication to their goal of a professional musical, theatrical, or artistic career, and display total dedication to this goal.

Dorothy Hughes-Young Endowed Scholarship for Music Education and Art Education
Established by Dorothy Hughes-Young (’57 B.S. Music Ed.) and her husband, Ronald Young (’57 B.S. Agriculture), to provide recognition for students pursuing studies in cultural and ethnic diversity in the arts and significant artistic endeavors in a foreign country (i.e. seminars, performances, summer study programs, semester abroad, etc.) Consideration will be given to an undergraduate and graduate student enrolled or planning to enroll in the College of Arts and Architecture with preference given to students majoring in music education or art education with plans for a career in teaching.

Johnstone Endowed Music Scholarship Fund
In memory of Helen Johnstone and in honor of Ann Mauery Johnstone by George W. Johnstone (’60 B.S. Sanitary Engineering) to provide recognition to undergraduate students pursuing a music major. Consideration will be given to those students who have given their time and talent on behalf of religious worship services.

To recruit musically superior students and support academic excellence as well as to honor President Emeritus Jordan and the late Mrs. Jonelle Jordan, funded by alumni and friends of the University upon Bryce Jordan’s retirement. Consideration will be given to full-time undergraduate students who demonstrate exceptional musical talent and exemplify high academic ideals.

In memory of the late Kittie E. Jordan, mother of University President Emeritus Bryce Jordan, to provide program support to assist deserving undergraduate and graduate students in the School of Music and purchasing music scores and textbooks.

MU ED, ’91 M.B.A.) and Philip Junker, consideration for this scholarship shall be given to full-time undergraduate students enrolled in the School of Music who have a demonstrated financial need for funds to meet their necessary college expenses with first preference given to eligible students whose primary instrument is the clarinet or a woodwind instrument.

James Robert Wilson Endowed Scholarship

Sam became a writer and producer for television, radio, and a playwright whose credits include Give ‘Em Hell Harry. Consideration will be given to incoming first-year students possessing outstanding and exceptional talent, dedication to their goal of a professional musical, theatrical, or artistic career, and display total dedication to this goal.

Helen and Lowell Manfull Theatre Scholarship
Established by the late Lowell L. Manfull and Helen A. Manfull. Lowell Manfull taught theatre history, dramatic theory, criticism, and literature in the School of Theatre from 1965 to 1992. Helen Manfull taught introduction to acting, theatre for children, creative drama, and women in theatre in the School of Theatre from 1969 to 1996. Provides recognition to outstanding juniors enrolled in the School of Theatre in the College of Arts and Architecture.

Honoring the late Lowell L. Manfull and Helen A. Manfull. Lowell Manfull taught theatre history, dramatic theory, criticism, and literature in the School of Theatre from 1965 to 1992. Helen Manfull taught introduction to acting, theatre for children, creative drama, and women in theatre in the School of Theatre from 1969 to 1996. Consideration will be given to outstanding academic accomplishment by a student graduating with a masters of fine arts or to a graduate student completing their second year and enrolled in the School of Theatre.

Mattie C. and A. Laura Mateer Theatre Artist-in-Residence Fund
Established by A. Laura Mateer in memory of her late husband, M.C. “Mattie” Mateer (’22 B.A. Commerce and Finance), to provide program support monies to sponsor visiting professional theatre artists to the University to enhance and enrich the academic and cultural resources of the campus and surrounding area and to encourage and identify excellence in the theatre arts.

William E. McTurk Endowment for Musical Theatre
Established by the estate of William E. McTurk to enrich the Musical Theatre Program in the School of Theatre by providing monies to support programmatic needs including, but not limited to, assistance in career placement, visiting artists and professors, new works, academic travel, and scholarships to full-time undergraduates participating in the Musical Theatre program who are making satisfactory academic progress and who have a demonstrated need for funds to meet their necessary college expenses.

Established by the late A. Laura Mateer and contributions made by the Class of 1935, to provide supplemental support monies for internship opportunities for Penn State students, to increase the number of professionals and defray rising production costs.

Irene Richards Memorial Scholarship
Established in memory of Irene Richards, mother of Kurt Richards. Kurt Richards (’36 B.A. Education), known as Jonathan Kidd, was an actor on Broadway, on television, and in the movies. Consideration will be given to full-time second-year theatre majors demonstrating talent and good study habits during his or her first-year.

Robert W. Schneider LGBTQIA+ Advocacy and Visibility Award
Established by Robert W. Schneider (’09 MFA Theatre), consideration for this non-endowed award shall be given to any full-time student who is enrolled in the School of Theatre, who demonstrates initiative or leadership such as, but not limited to, the organization of a program or event, creation or performance of an ‘artistic work’ that highlights LGBTQIA+ awareness.

School of Theatre Design and Technology Alumni Conference Scholarship
Consideration for this annually-funded scholarship shall be given to undergraduate students enrolled in the School of Theatre who are majoring in a degree program that focuses on design and technology and who have an expressed interest in attending professional industry opportunities with first preference given to students who are attending the annual USITT Conference.

Sloan Musical Theatre Master Class Fund
Established by Todd A. Sloan (’91 B.A. Political Sci.) in honor of Dean Barbara O. Korner in appreciation of her leadership and advocacy of the arts in higher education, the purpose of this non-endowed program fund is to enrich the Musical Theatre program by providing support for facilitating interactions between students and professionals in the entertainment industry.

Graham B. and Sandra K. Spanier Student Development Fund for the Musical Theatre Program
Established by Penn State President Graham B. Spanier and his wife, Sandra K. Spanier (’76 M.A. and ’81 Ph.D., English), as support for student needs and expenses as they arise, including, but not limited to, scholarships, student travel, costume purchase, professional performance, tickets and personal expenses related to learning about, improving upon and experiencing the craft of musical theatre.

Theatre 100 Undergraduate Award
Established by Annie McGregor through royalties garnered from the THEA 100 textbook to recognize outstanding achievement by an undergraduate student who has achieved second-year status, who is enrolled in the School of Theatre in the College of Arts and Architecture at The Pennsylvania State University.

Henrietta Thomas Memorial Award for Musical Theatre Vocal Performance
Established by Mary Saunders-Barton and Robert W. Barton, consideration for this award shall be given to all undergraduate Musical Theatre majors who are of at least sophomore standing, enrolled in the College of Arts and Architecture, and have demonstrated superior vocal performance via the musical theatre program’s end-of-semester voice jury evaluations.

The late Sam Gallu (’40 B.S. Arts and Letters) established this scholarship in memory of his parents, Simeon and Elizabeth Gallu. Sam became a writer and producer for television, radio, and a playwright whose credits include Give ‘Em Hell Harry. Consideration will be given to incoming first-year students possessing outstanding and exceptional talent, dedication to their goal of a professional musical, theatrical, or artistic career, and display total dedication to this goal.

Stefan J. S. Levine Endowment
Established by Stefan J. S. Levine (’85 B.S. Finance) to support undergraduate research and creative activities for students enrolled in a degree program offered through the School of Visual Arts. Donor prefers that available funds support research and creative activities that provide an opportunity for undergraduate students to experience domestic travel (may include, but not limited to travel expenses, materials and supplies, and registration fees).

Selected by the art education faculty to recognize full-time undergraduate third- and fourth-year students enrolled in the art education program whose career goal is teaching.

McComb Memorial Scholarship in Art Education
Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to full-time undergraduate students majoring in Art Education, and who have completed at least two art education courses attaining a grade point average of 2.7 (on a scale of 4.0) in each art education course. From the identified pool of eligible recipients, and to the extent possible, first preference shall be given to students who are first generation college students.

The purpose of this endowment is to provide monies for curatorial internships for Art History and Art Education graduate students to facilitate the completion of various curatorial tasks at the Palmer Museum of Art while providing hands-on experience in the areas of organization and staging of exhibits and catalogues. Lori Bowers and David Uhazie Endowed Scholarship for Blue Band Feature Twirler
Established by former Blue Band feature twirler Lori Bowers (’82 B.A. Advertising) and her husband, David Uhazie (’82 B.S. Finance), to support the feature twirler in the Blue Band, with consideration of additional funds to support the Blue Band majorette program. The endowment was subsequently enhanced by supporters of the Blue Sapphire Classic baton competition, founded by the first recipient of the scholarship, P.J. Established by Linda A. and Keith E. Forrest (‘69 B.S. EMS) to provide monies to support the operation and initiatives of the Penn State Blue Band.

Penn State Blue Band Legacy Fund
Established by former Blue Band feature twirler Lori Bowers (’82 B.A. Advertising) and her husband, David Uhazie (’82 B.S. Finance), the purpose of this fund shall be to provide a dependable, but flexible, resource to meet the needs of the Penn State Blue Band. Expenditures may include, but are not necessarily limited to, maintaining or replacing instruments, providing uniforms and other materials, and supporting other needs or opportunities, such as travel, special performances, or fees to purchase music.

Richard Robert Brown Program Endowment for the Center for Performing Arts
Established by Richard Robert Brown (’60 B.S. Metallurgy), the purpose of this endowment is to foster an appreciation of the performing arts in undergraduate students enrolled at Penn State University. Monies provided through this endowment are intended to provide funding for programs at the Center for the Performing to make the Center more accessible, affordable, and interesting to undergraduate students at the University.

Norma and Ralph Condee Chamber Music Endowment
Established by the late Ralph Condee and his late wife, Norma Condee, the purpose of this endowment is to support the presentation of professional chamber music concerts at Penn State presented through the Center for the Performing Arts.

Eisenhower Auditorium Endowment
The purpose of this endowment is to help ensure the variety, frequency and quality of outstanding performing arts events at the Eisenhower Auditorium.

Sidney and Helen S. Friedman Endowment for the Center for the Performing Arts
Established by the late Sidney Friedman ( ’42 B.A. Comm.) and the late Helen S. Friedman (’42 B.S. Educ.) to provide monies to support the programs of the Center for the Performing Arts.

Glenn and Nancy Gamble Endowment for the Center for the Performing Arts
Established by Glenn W. Gamble (’51 B.S. AG, ’55 M. Ed. AG, ’59 D. Ed. ED) and Nancy Saylor Gamble (’52 B.S. HHD, ’55 M. Ed. HHD) to provide monies to support programming at the Center for the Performing Arts.

Hall-LeKander Endowment for the Performing Arts
Established by Daniel J. LeKander and Peggy Hall LeKander (’75 B.S. Elem./Kindergarten Educ.) in honor of the late Fred W. and Ethel S. Hall and the late Julia Bonchack Hall. The purpose of the endowment is to provide monies to involve elderly citizens in Center for the Performing Arts programs.

Robert and Sonia Hufnagel Endowment for the Center for the Performing Arts
Established by Robert J. Hufnagel to support jazz programs and to incentivize active collaboration between the Center for the Performing Arts and other campus and community partners.

Honey and Bill Jaffe Endowment for Audience Development for the Center for Performing Arts
Established by William A. Jaffe (’60 B.A. Journalism) and Honey Jaffe to enrich the Center for the Performing Arts by providing monies for audience development.

Debra Lee Latta and Dr. Stanley E. Latta Endowment for the Center for the Performing Arts
Established by Stanley E. Latta (’75 B.S. H&HD, ’77 M.Ed. Educ., ’81 M.Ed. H&HD, ’92 D.Ed. Educ.) and Debra L. Latta (’79 B.S. Educ., ’03 M.Ed. Educ.) to provide funds to strengthen and broaden the scope of the Center for the Performing Arts dance performance and engagement programs and to incentivize active collaboration between the CPA and other campus and community partners with preference given to support dance programs, with the collaboration focused on K-12 schools in Centre County, PA.

Meghan R. Mason Program Endowment for the Center for the Performing Arts
Established by John M. Mason, Jr. (’72 B.S. Capital, Trans. Tech.) and Michelle R. Mason, the purpose of this endowment is to provide monies to support educational performances and special educational events hosted by the Center for the Performing Arts.

McQuaide Blasko Endowment in the Center for the Performing Arts
Established by McQuaide Blasko, this endowment provides monies to support programs in the performing arts to develop and encourage an interest in the performing arts in young children and youth.

William E. McTurk Endowment for Program Support for the Center for the Performing Arts
Established by the estate of William E. McTurk to support the ongoing program of the Center by providing monies that can be used to keep the Center’s services accessible and affordable, to enhance the Center’s educational services and outreach, and to maintain the highest artistic quality.

Pieter and Lida Ouwehand Endowment for the Center for the Performing Arts
Established by Pieter W. and Lida Ouwehand, the purpose of this endowment is to enrich the College of Arts and Architecture by providing monies for the operations and activities of the Center for the Performing Arts. It is the donors’ desire that available funds be used to support activities and programs related to classical music.

Penn State International Dance Ensemble Endowment for the Center for the Performing Arts
Established by members, alumni, parents, and friends of the Penn State International Dancers, this endowment provides monies to the Center for the Performing Arts in support of international dance and music programs including, by not limited to, professional performance, tickets, and expenses related to learning and experiencing international dance and music.

Dotty and Paul Rigby Classical Music Endowment at the Center for the Performing Arts
Established by Dorothy Sall Rigby (’68 M.A. Social Studies) to provide funds to support classical music performance at the Center for the Performing Arts.

Gerald B. M. and Sylvia Stein Memorial Endowment for the Center for the Performing Arts
Established by Dr. Gerald B. M. Stein (’43 B.A. Psychology), the purpose of this endowment is to support the ongoing programs of the Center for the Performing Arts by providing monies to keep the Center’s services accessible and affordable, to enhance the Center’s outreach and educational services, and to maintain the highest artistic quality.

John M. Anderson Endowment for the Palmer Museum of Art
Established by the late John M. Anderson to support the purchase and restoration of works for the Asian collection and to support the purchase or restoration of works for other areas.

Art Objects Fund
This endowed fund for art objects was established from funds from the Penn State Foundation funds to purchase paintings, sculpture and art objects for the University.

Carver Family Education Program Endowment at the Palmer Museum of Art
Established by Bala Carver and Christopher C. Carver, the purpose of this fund shall be to provide funds to support K-12 school and family programming at the Palmer Museum of Art.

Charles and Cynthia Cozewith Endowment for Museum Operations
Established by Harley Cozewith (’84 B.S. LArch.) and Blane Albert Balch, the purpose of this endowment shall be to enrich the Palmer Museum of Art by providing discretionary program support.

Friends of the Palmer Museum of Art Endowment
Established by Friends of the Palmer Museum of Art to provide for museum general operating expenses, exhibitions, publications, marketing, educational programs and community outreach.

Charles V. Hallman Curatorship in the Palmer Museum of Art
Established from the estate of Mabel P. Hansen in memory of her first husband and Penn State alumnus, Charles Vernon Hallman, class of 1928, to provide a distinguished professional in the Palmer Museum of Art the opportunity to continue and further scholarly excellence through contributions to instruction, research, and public service.

Donald W. Hamer Endowment for Art Acquisitions and Exhibitions
Established by The Hamer Foundation to provide monies for art acquisitions and exhibitions. The endowment allows the museum to add significant works to its collection and acquire touring shows of the highest national significance and of interest to the community of residents, students and scholars.

James E. Hess and Suzanne Scurfield Hess Research Endowment for Art Education in the Palmer Museum of Art
Established by the late James Hess (í51 B.S. Electrical Engineering) and the late Suzanne Scurfield Hess (’51 B.S. and ’53 M.Ed. Music Ed.) to provide monies for educational programs in the Palmer Museum of Art.

Arnold and Bette Hoffman Studio Art Glass Collection Endowment
Established by Arnold S. Hoffman (’57 B.A. Journalism) and Bette Gichner Hoffman (’58 B.S. Home Econ), to provide monies to the Palmer Museum of Art to support the maintenance of various collections and the activities and initiates that increase awareness and exposure to its collections, giving primary consideration to the care and curation of the museum’s studio art glass collection. Expenditures may include, but are not limited to, acquisitions, conservation, and exhibitions.

Honey and Bill Jaffe Endowment for the Palmer Museum of Art
Established by William A. Jaffe (’60 B.A. Journalism) and the late Honey Jaffe to provide monies for art conservation and preservation. The endowment allows the museum to conserve and preserve its permanent collection and acquire works of art in need of restoration.

Museum of Art Enrichment Fund
Established by various donors to provide support funds to enrich the program and offerings of the Palmer Museum of Art by assembling outstanding exhibitions of art, offering unique educational experience in the arts for students, attracting visiting lecturers, and providing proper conservation of the works of art.

Dorothy and John C. O’Connor Endowment for the Yeager and O’Connor Collection of Prints
Established by the late John C. O’Connor, Jr. (’38 B.S. EMS) and the late Dorothy B. O’Connor to provide program support for the care, preservation, and additions to the Pennsylvania Print Collection and then to the general collection of prints, drawings, and watercolors of the Palmer Museum of Art.

John C. O’Connor Endowed Graduate Fellowship
Established by the late John C. O’Connor, Jr. (’38 B.S. EMS) and the late Dorothy B. O’Connor to recognize and provide financial assistance to outstanding students who have been admitted to the Graduate School as candidates for a graduate degree in art history, art education, or related field offered in the College of Arts and Architecture. First preference shall be given to students who have a demonstrated interest in the museum collection area of prints and works on paper and/or students who are working on internships and/or assistantships within the Palmer Museum of Art.

Barbara R. Palmer 90th Birthday Endowment
Created by friends and family of Barbara R. Palmer in honor of her 90^th birthday, this endowment helps support the activities and initiatives of the Palmer Museum of Art.

Ruth Anne and Ralph Papa Endowment
Established by Ruth Anne and Ralph Papa (’69 Bach. of Social Sciences) to create youth and family programming by providing monies for demonstrations, workshops and presentations by staff, graduate students and guest artists.

Pincus Family Foundation Endowment for Student Education at the Palmer Museum of Art
Established by the Pincus Family Foundation, this endowment provides support for programming, activities, and education opportunities at the Palmer Museum of Art for college-age students and may include, but are not necessarily limited to special projects and exhibits, internship opportunities, guest speakers, and student awards.

John and Lynda Powell Art Acquisition Endowment
Established by John Powell (’65 B.A. Journalism) and Lynda Powell to support the acquisition of new works and for restoration and presentation of works for the permanent collection.

Kay L. and Ernest F. Salvino Museum of Art Enrichment Endowment
Established by Kay L. Salvino (’69 B.S. IFS) and Ernest F. Salvino (’69 B.A. LMR), the purpose of this endowment is to provide discretionary funds to enrich the programs and offerings of the Museum of Art at Penn State.

Earl K. Shreckengast and Julia K. Muller Collection Endowment
Established by Earl K. Shreckengast and Julia K. Muller, to provide monies to the Palmer Museum of Art to support the maintenance of various collections, giving primary consideration to maintenance of the Earl K. Shreckengast and Julia K. Muller Glass Art Collection.

Annie Gooding Sykes Internship at the Palmer Museum of Art
Established by Christine W. and Raymond G. Ayoub in memory of Christine Ayoub’s grandmother, the late artist, Annie Gooding Sykes. The purpose of this fund is to provide an internship opportunity to an outstanding graduate or upper-level undergraduate student enrolled in the Department of Art History, the School of Visual Arts, Women’s Studies, or American Studies.

Silver Trout Curatorial Graduate Internship Program
The purpose of this endowment is to provide monies for curatorial internships for Art History and Art Education graduate students to facilitate the completion of various curatorial tasks at the Palmer Museum of Art while providing hands-on experience in the areas of organization and staging of exhibits and catalogues. This fund also provides support for curatorial projects and initiatives at the Palmer Museum of Art which shall include, but not necessarily be limited to, the development of a museum studies program.
