College names second cohort of Sustainability Faculty Teaching Fellows

The College of Arts and Architecture has named its second cohort of Sustainability Faculty Teaching Fellows, including nine faculty members and two graduate students representing disciplines across the college. Sustainability Faculty Teaching Fellows receive a $500 stipend to support the integration of sustainability competencies into their courses and participate in the Sustainability Teaching Roundtable Series, organized by Mihyun Kang, director for sustainability in the College of Arts and Architecture. “I have been engaged in recruiting and selecting the second cohort of Sustainability Faculty Teaching Fellows and am delighted to announce 11 leaders to work on transformative sustainability initiatives,” said Kang. This year’s fellows include faculty members Heather Ligler, assistant teaching professor of architecture; Heather McCune Bruhn, assistant teaching professor of art history; Emily Burns, assistant professor of graphic design; Huiwon Lim, assistant professor of graphic design; Lauren Sosa, assistant teaching professor of landscape architecture; Eric McKee, professor of music; Chris Swetcky, assistant professor of theatre; Angela Rothrock, associate teaching professor of art; and Michelle Bae-Dimitriadis, assistant professor of art education and women’s, gender and sexuality studies, and graduate students Kate Cholakis-Kolysko (landscape architecture) and Alex Russell (visual arts). Remaining roundtables this semester will take place via Zoom with facilitators Angela Rothrock (March 1), Eric McKee (March 29) and Heather McCune Bruhn (April 5), all of whom serve on the College of Arts and Architecture Sustainability Council’s teaching and learning working group. The goal of the Roundtable Teaching Series is to transform the culture of sustainability education and pedagogy in the College of Arts and Architecture, embedding it into the college’s teaching culture.
