Graphic design student’s work selected for national exhibition

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – A poster design by fourth-year graphic design student Rebecca Larson was selected for “Artifact [Bold],” a national biennial exhibition of graphic design, new media, illustration, printmaking and the expanded field in the Sechrest Gallery of Art at High Point University in North Carolina. Larson’s design, titled “Vote Poster,” was created during her second year of study at Penn State in the GD203: Typography II course taught by Emily Burns, assistant professor of graphic design in the Stuckeman School. Larson’s design features four pins on a t-shirt with text that states: “Make Your Choice November 3rd,” and “Don’t Vote? Don’t Complain.” The purpose of the design was to encourage voters to participate in the 2020 presidential election. Hosted by the Sechrest Gallery of Art and Department of Studio Art and Graphic Design at High Point, “Artifact [Bold]” highlights designers making contemporary, innovative, thought-provoking work.
